@ Galea L: then maybe the roads i generally use have been improved pretty well (especially arterial roads)... as i said there's a lot more room for improvement.
But to blame the state of the roads for the drop in tourism in a context of a global financial crisis (as Mr Gellel did) is somewhat of a sweeping statement which to me doesn't make too much sense...
Sometimes I think that no matter how many improvements are done with regards to roads, we will always complain about the state of the roads - we must all admit that compared to 10, 15, 20 years ago, roads have improved a lot (Hal Far, Rue D'Argens, Mellieha By-pass, B'Kara bypass, road to the airport, burmarrad by-pass, naxxar by-pass, Telgha t'Alla u Ommu, Mgarr by pass... and a lot of secondary roads too... that's to mention a few)
P.S. Had I been living on the moon, I would've certainly complained about the state of the roads :)

Bla, bla, bla.
An article on hotel occupancy rates becomes a reason to rant about taxes and cost of living. Come on folks - GonziPN sucks - I agree. But when we make statements like this in an article that's unrelated to the subject we're trying to discuss we look like kooks.

@Mario Gellel: I think PN is waiting for a PL government to make the roads as smooth as silk! Roads are something one can't complain too much anymore about as in the past years we've seen a lot of improvement although still a long way to go.
Flight taxes yes, are ridiculous, when considering that i had to pay €62 for a 'free ticket' i got with Flypass points...
One must admit also that the decrease in hotel occupancy is very much down to the current global crisis, and whether PN, PL, Lowell, AD, KUL, AN or Libertas... it is somehow inevitable that tourists pick either cheaper destinations (overland sometimes) or just don't go on holiday...

How can turists come to Malta when the PN Goverment is tightening a rope around their neck with all those new Taxes imposed on them, the high cost of living, the moonlike roads, ecc ecc.
