Seven arrested over drugs

The police are holding seven people in connection with drug finds in two separate investigations on Saturday night.

The first find was in a party close to Luqa involving four men aged between 18 and 21 and hailing from Mġarr, San Ġwann, Victoria and St Julians. According to the Drug Squad, these men had either taken or were in possession of cannabis and cocaine.

The second arrest was done in Tarxien after the police were informed that there was a commotion in an apartment. The two men aged 20 and 25 from Tarxien and a woman aged18 from Fgura who were inside the flat were acting suspiciously, on seeing the police.

The police assisted by members of the Drug Squad found several packets of heroine prepared to be trafficked and items connected with drug abuse.

These persons are expected to be arraigned in the coming days.
