Braving the heat dressed in a fleecy rabbit suit, a young woman yesterday distributed leaflets at City Gate, Valletta, to raise awareness about animal rights.

Five NGOs joined Moviment Graffitti's event, which brought to an end its seven-month project, 'Create, Innovate, Liberate', to spread the word that love towards animals had to go beyond caring for pets.

Funded by the Youth Support Programme, the idea was to highlight the realities of animal cruelty such as the bad conditions farm animals sometimes faced, those killed for their fur, or used for lab tests.
