Ivan Woods is set to see out the rest of his career with Sliema Wanderers after renewing his contract with the Premier League club for another two years.
The Malta striker, who joined the Wanderers in season 2004-05 from Pietà Hotspurs, was out of contract at the end of last season but negotiations with Sliema officials led to him agreeing a new two-year deal with the option of extending it for another year.
"I'm delighted to have reached an agreement with Sliema over a new contract," Woods, 32, told The Times yesterday.
"My wish is to end my career with Sliema Wanderers. I hope that the announcement of this new deal will put an end to the untrue rumours that I was thinking of quitting the club to seek pastures new.
"I view this contract as appreciation for my commitment and contribution to Sliema in the past four years. I'm determined to give my all to help Sliema reach their goals in the next two seasons."
Woods finished the season as Sliema's leading scorer in the Premier League with nine goals. He was also on target in the FA Trophy final against Valletta when he scored Sliema's third goal in a 3-3 draw before striking the decisive penalty that gave the Wanderers a dramatic 4-3 shoot-out win.
