Swede held-up in St Julians
A Swede has been allegedly held up by a man armed with a knife in St Julian's this afternoon.
The police said that around 1.30 p.m., a 24-year-old foreigner sought their help claiming he had been stopped in Dragonara Street by a man who was holding a knife and who asked him for his laptop.
The foreigner said he gave the man his laptop and the thief ran away. Although not injured, the victim suffered a major shock.

P.Zammit. I agree with your comment but not when one of our selling points to foreigners is the saferty feeling factor. Take that away and you are not left with much....cry as we might but Malta in the eyes of potential tourists is a sun and sea destination and safety for families. Out of three we remain with two.

Could the robber have been described in more detail?
P.Zammit :
Go and live in London, and ask others about who does most muggings. Your findings might make you rethink your position. Nothing racist : just statistics.

@CA Camilleri I was nearly mugged twice in London. Once I made a run for it, the 2nd time I was being followed in the underground (which was deserted very early in the morning) at the nick of time I see a family waiting for the train and I went next to them. The potential mugger, saw this and went away. Assure you he was following me with bad intentions. What do I think of the British after these 2 bad seperate experiences ? Same as before, nice people overall. What do I think of black people (both cases were black men)? Sames as before - you find all sorts in every race. Would I travel to London again ? Of course I would.

This is all we need in this dire economic situation, bad publicity. Can you think what will be his view on Malta after this incident back home if proven to be true.
