I refer to the Law Report of June 1. Is it not of prominence that a local council does its best for the benefit of its residents? Many mayors have said this, already, and that should be the aim of each local council.

On January 31, 2007, the court of first instance also declared that residents' parking zones should be introduced everywhere or nowhere at all - and I say this is rightly so; see The Times report of May 21. Why was this not mentioned in the law report of June 1?

There have been numerous letters on the same subject, not to mention my series of letters over the last seven years.

Michael Briguglio's write-up on the recent Sliema local council magazine (January-May 2009 issue) clearly says that the council has carried out all the necessary work over the past six years and yet the ADT keeps procrastinating. Why?

It would really be appreciated if someone in authority clarified the issue. Right now, it seems that the resident is a secondary citizen.

If the problem is solved in some 20 years' time, it would not be of any interest to me - I am now over 70, thanks to the Lord.
