Barely six months after having opened its luxury boutique at Portomaso, Diamonds International has now opened its outlet at the newly refurbished Departures Lounge at Malta International Airport. This brings the total number of Diamonds International outlets to six.
"While adhering to the strict requirements outlined by MIA, under the direction of a team of Italian designers, this new boutique offers the same décor as that of our flagship store at Portomaso," said Karl Micallef, director of Diamonds International. "In fact, as in Portomaso, our new outlet in the Departures Lounge will be offering the same selection of the finest brands of jewellery and watches we represent such as Cartier, Mont Blanc, Omega, Mikimoto and Damiani to name a few."
Mr Micallef added: "The company had made it its policy that after opening three hotel boutiques at Le Meridien St Julians, The Hilton and the Radisson SAS, a boutique at the newly revamped Departures Lounge at Malta's International Airport was the natural next step forward. Our jewels are not only regarded as a symbol of wealth but have also become representative of our client's taste and sense of style."
Mr Micallef emphasised that the local market will always be and remain the company's core target audience. "In fact, this new boutique at MIA will be dealing with the countless Maltese passengers passing through the departures."
This new development comes at a time when Diamonds International is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary in Malta as well as commemorating 85 years of Damiani, one of the group's iconic brands.
Besides hosting a 10-day extravaganza at the group's outlet in Portomaso which for 10 days is going to be transformed into one whole Damiani boutique, Diamonds International will also be hosting Silvia Damiani, vice president of the Damiani Group in Malta.
"Ms Damiani will definitely be one of the first celebrities to call at our new outlet at MIA Departures Lounge on her way back home," said Mr Micallef.
