It's here again. The 12th edition of The Victoria International Arts Festival commenced on June 10 with a moving and beautifully played recital by the St James Consort and the final Grand Orchestral and Choral Concert will be held on July 13. In between we will be entertained, stimulated and uplifted by 28 evening recitals by numerous professional and extremely talented amateur musicians, singers, dancers and lecturers. Artistes from 11 countries will make it truly international, in addition to our own talented Maltese and Gozitan performers on the stage.
Some of the performers will be making a repeat visit to the festival and to add to the ambience most of the concerts will be held either in St Geoge's Basilica or the Aula (located behind the Basilica).
The programme includes something to satisfy everyone's taste: music from the classical era, modern, string, brass, percussion, etc... It's all there.
So visit Gozo as often as possible during the next five weeks for a feast of musical entertainment and support the organising committee who work so hard throughout the year to bring us this cultural extravaganza. All concerts start at 8 p.m. except on June 26 when it starts at 8.30 and on July 10 at 7.30 p.m.
