10 more refugees to resettle in US
Ten Somali and Eritrean immigrants yesterday left Malta to begin a new life in the US.
Since the start of the Permanent Refugee Resettlement Programme, just over a year ago, the American Embassy in Malta has helped more than 260 migrants to resettle in the US.
Jason Davis, embassy chargé d'affaires, said all refugees were assigned a sponsor agency in the US that provided initial services such as housing, food and clothing, referral to medical care, employment services and other support during the transition period to self-sufficiency.
These services assist refugees with the process of integration and cultural assimilation.

Why is it the responsibility of the US to take illegal immigrants off your hands? Unlike most of your EU partners, the US is actually trying to help you in this matter by taking some illegals. Why do you expect the United States to take them all? When there is somekind of a need for assistance in any of the 50 states, we do not look towards Brussels for help, we forward our requests towards Washington, D.C. . Therefore, I suggest that Malta forwards her requests for asistance in this matter towards Brussels. Maybe the EU should start acting as an actual "union" more and not in words only. Malta needs to make other EU members share the burden more, and not expect other countries from outside the EU to solve all their problems.
