Jimmy Magro's letter Linked Road Networks Needed In Attard (June 13) raises in a persuasive manner an issue which has been highlighted before in this newspaper.

Briefly, this concerns the urgent need for a solution to the serious traffic problem facing Attard residents daily, and in particular those residing on the stretch of road from the Attard cemetery to Attard Farm Supplies. The only solution must be to devise a plan to bypass Attard.

Mr Magro advanced various alternatives as to how this could be done.

The only point I would like to add to Mr Magro's letter is that residents in this area are continually being subjected to what must be a very high level of traffic fumes especially given that the main road in this area is not only a bus route but is in constant use by trucks of heavy tonnage.

I trust that this time the government accords this issue the high priority it deserves, at the very least to help protect the health of the people directly affected.
