For everybody's sake - including these illegal immigrants' - our authorities should not prevent them getting out of detention - but help them out! Temporary ''refugee / humanitarian'' Passports, boats, compasses, provisions should be given to them, hands shaken, fond farewells sung and departure for Europe or wherever commenced. We could provide them with an honorary escort for part of the way. Why not? Europe's laws won't be broken that way.
Why do we keep these detainees here against their will? Europe is against that. Graffitti, JRS (the Jesuits) and other holy NGOs are against that. So provide them with the help they need to leave us in peace - before the next summer onslaught arrives.

The security at the so-called closed centres must be the laughing stock of all Africa.
Why not install Siegfried-line type of deterrents such as rolls of barbed wire ON THE INSIDE of the fence.

And yet again, NO ONE IS ACCOUNTABLE. If only they would manage to escape from OUR Island as well.

John Micallef ....................or they forgot to return while another two made it to the airport with a false passport?
Where is the Minister of the Interior or is he not sure if he is going to remain as such? Isn’t Gonzi's musical chair of his incompetent Ministers over due by now?

...and I question myself, how can one feel safe? is there a security there? because I think they have a spare key for the main door lock :)
