The neglect of Gozo continues apace

Why is it that most of Gozo's roads are in such a bad state? Despite the hype created when a bit of road was constructed from Mġarr to the outskirts of Għajnselem, most of the rest are like doing a moon safari, when so many roads in Malta were upgraded and some almost paved in gold.

Why is it that the much promised cruise liner buoy sorely needed to help the island in its tourist activity, and which we have heard about for so many years, is not yet in place? What's the use of having a catering school if no tourists are visiting the island, with the numbers always on the decline? When will Gozo have its own tourist office?

When will the island have a decent transport system? When will we have a full-size swimming pool to help out youngsters to specialise in this sport discipline.

Since 2006, Gozo has been deprived of a convenient air service from Ta' Lambert to Malta International Airport. Despite so many representations and de-tailed surveys, the concept of a much-needed airstrip fell on deaf ears. At the time of writing this area is just one big rubbish dumb which unfortunately keeps on increasing at an alarming rate.

Why is it that car parking in Victoria has never been tackled seriously? There is so much space in the Cittadella ditches. Similar usage is found in historic places overseas, not to mention the bus terminus in Valletta.

The noise and dust created by the construction fraternity goes on unabated, most of it in the tourist areas, a case in point being Marasalforn. Why is this allowed? So much for peace and quiet.
