Bus drivers in Malta already have a bad reputation because of the bad manners of some. To make things worse, they regularly overcharge passengers.

I am often not given change when paying with a 50 cent coin (the fare is 47cents), but recently I was overcharged .

The driver insisted that I had given him 20 cents, when in fact I had given him 50 cents, and he demanded the difference.

The driver started shouting at me on a bus full of tourists. I had to give him the extra 27 cents, even though I was sure I had given him a 50 cent coin.

I hope that the Transport Authority takes note of such incidents and takes the necessary action.
