Maltco Lotteries said it was offering more cash winnings on the Quaterno game.

By staking €2, a player stood a chance of winning €200,000 when guessing four out of five lotto numbers drawn in the first category. Furthermore, the company said, those guessing three out of five lotto numbers drawn would win €500, and €30 could be won if a player guessed just two of the five numbers in the Saturday lotto draw.

This meant, Maltco explained, that a player had 11 chances of winning when purchasing a €2 ticket with four numbers, that is one chance of winning the category I (four out of five numbers) cash prize of €200,000; four chances of winning the category II (three out of five numbers) cash prize of €500 and six chances of winning the category III (two out of five numbers) cash prize of €30.

Of course, stakers can also play combinations by choosing more than four numbers and this would result in the player participating through a larger number of tickets and increasing the chances of winning.

If in any draw, there is more than one winning column in category I in the newly-enhanced Quaterno game, the winning prize of €200,000 is split according to the number of winning columns.

In the event that winnings in categories ll and lll in any one draw exceed 70 per cent of the sales of the Quaterno game for that draw, Maltco can exercise at its discretion the option to limit winnings to not less than 70 per cent of the sales of the Quaterno game for that draw.
