GWU 'still seeking' Freeport recognition
The GWU has denied claims by the Malta Dockers Union that it is no longer seeking trade union recognition at Malta Freeport.
The claim was made at an MDU general meeting earlier this week.
The GWU said it would continue working both locally and abroad until the will of the workers freely expressed in a secret vote was recognised.
The GWU said it was a pity that the MDU leadership feared a secret vote.
It said it had also informed the Director of Industrial Relations that there were false signatures on resignation notices sent to it.
The GWU said it was still awaiting an official account on the management of the port workers' fund.

J farrugia...If GWU is a forcina, what does that make you? And then you tell us that you are not interested in political parties....Do you honestly think that ANYONE here believes you?
J Oatman, Tony Zarb is elected from the delegates, and as long as they believe that he's doing a good job, he's there to stay. Sorry if that bothers you.
As for Soviet style idea, could you give us a couple of examples....

MDU's President's resignation is playing into the GWU's hands.
Bad move!
Yes, Tony Zarb always gets paid whether the workers are well served or not, and he needs his big pay, too.

@ Joseph Brincat - mhux talli ma qomtx talli dak in-nhar stess kont fuq saqajja niekol u nixrob, u nigri l hemmu l hawn. Imma meta rajt il-vetturi jiccelebraw ghidt bejni u bejn ruhu: x'inhuma jiccelebraw? Li 4 persuni hadu mandat biex imorru brussells fejn qatt ma riedu jmorru ghax qatt ma riedu jinghaqdu mal-ewropa u l-gvern ghadu hemm, ghal 4 snin ohra? Dan kien ir-ragunament tieghi. U nahseb li kelli ragun ghax ma damux idoqqu l-hornijiet. Imma waqaf kollox. U regghet saltnet il-paci. U mela tigi tghidli li ghadni ma qomtx minn telfa. Jiena telfa la qatt kelli u l-inqas ikolli ghax mill-partiti ma jinteressanix. Jinteressani l-but, li l-hobz nieklu u x-xorb nixorbu. Dak l-interess tieghi. L-inqas titkellmu ma tafu. Qiskom irbahtu l-elezzjoni presidenzjali.

This union is really a political organisation, it has let the workers down in the past on numerous occaisions.
With the GWU all you get is trouble for the workers, lost jobs and living in the last century, with discredited soviet style ideas taht have died a death. In my opinion the only person who does well in the GWU is Tony Zarb - he always gets paid, and never gets the sack, for any reason.

Where will GWU get the funds from???? Your days as a union are coming to an end, let real unions do the job not PL machines like you.
