ABDILLA. On June 8, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARGARET, née Castillo, aged 95, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Richard and his wife Rose, Lucienne and her husband Manwel Mamo, Joe widower of her daughter Rose, nephews and nieces, grandchildren, her sisters Tessie and Doris and their families. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.45 a.m. for the Capuchins church in Floriana where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Ċentru Animazzjoni Missjunarja, Sta Venera will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

AZZILLA. On June 9, Alfred, aged 64, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Connie née Galea and his daughter Claire and her husband Raphael Borg, his sister Carmen and her husband Henry Aquilina, his brothers Genio and his wife Terry, Tonio and John, in-laws and their spouses, uncles and aunts, councils, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

GALDES. On June 9, at Villa Messina Residence in Rabat, JOSEPHINE, widow of William, of Birkirkara and residing at Villa Messina, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church at the venerable age of 100. She leaves to mourn her loss her nephews and nieces Dr Joseph Grech Attard, Mary and her husband Paul Vella, Taziana Grech, Helen and her husband Albert P. Mamo, Anna and her husband George Camilleri, Veronica and her husband Frank Ellul, Amata and her husband Simon J. Camilleri, Fr Christopher Galdes, Perit Joseph Briffa and his wife Paulette, Maria widow of the late Joseph Buhagiar, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Villa Messina Residance, tomorrow at 7.45 a.m. for St Joseph the Worker parish church in Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. The family wishes to thank the management and staff of Villa Messina for the loving care that she was given whilst residing there in the last years of her long life. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MIZZI. On June 9, following an accident, MARIA CONNIE (Ċettina) née Fenech, of Sliema, aged 64. She leaves to mourn her loss her children, Denise and Stephen and their respective spouses, grandchildren, relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. God, grant her eternal rest.

Art and science

When computers started becoming more popular, artist Charles Cassar was already experimenting with the techniques offered by this new medium. He continues to prove art can keep in touch with scientific developments. Bank of Valletta will be exhibiting his works to the public between Saturday and July 23 at its head office, in Santa Venera.

Drawing course

The Carmelite Priory in Mdina will run a course in drawing and painting at its museum every Tuesday at 10.15 a.m. starting in July for €60. The 10 lessons will focus on basic drawing skills, in pencil, colour and ink. The priory's telephone number is: 2702 0401.

Classic sports cars

Enthusiasts are in for a treat on Sunday as a large fleet of classic sports cars will be on display at the Bay Street Complex, St Julians. The cars, which are all in pristine condition, belong to Classic Sports Car Club members, who are organising the exhibition.

Gozo Heritage Trail

Heritage Malta will be holding a one-day heritage trail in Gozo on June 28. Tickets, which include the ferry trip, admission tickets and lunch, cost €35 for adults and €30 for Heritage Malta members. Call on 2295 4312 to book.
