Two illegal immigrants still on the run
Over the past 12 months there were six irregular illegal immigrants who escaped from detention centres guarded by the police. Four of them have been caught.
The information was given by Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici in reply to a parliamentary question by Chris Cardona (PL).
Answering another question by Dr Cardona, Minister Mifsud Bonnici said there were currently 141 illegal immigrants without refugee or humanitarian status in open centres. It was estimated that they cost the department an average of €71.64 each per month in salaries and other expenses.

It appears that CMB has not learned his lesson and is still trying to mislead the people.
"€71.64 each per month in salaries and other expenses".
Why don't you pull the other one CMB?
Why are photos not posted on the media of all illegal immigrants on the run?
Why are they not deported forthwith?
And then they have the gall to accuse the people of xenophobia!!!!

"there were currently 141 illegal immigrants without refugee or humanitarian status in open centres"
in open centres?.. First of all I really think they should be deported immediately.. but since it is nearly impossible for us to do so, they should be kept in CLOSED Centres.
What are we waiting for to deport them? waiting until they are granted refugee or humanitarian status and are added to Africans living in Malta??
