PL almost managed to secure the 2008 General Election votes with only a 79% voter turnout. Keep in mind that in 2008 the turnout was 93%.
Labour was only 6,000 votes short but the PN is an astounding 43,000 votes short!

Before one makes a big do out of the results one must consider:
General Election 2008 Results
MLP 141,880 Euro 09 -5963
PN 143,480 Euro 09 -42,994
It seems that in general both paries lost a considerable number of votes...... Result that PL has not yet managed to convince new voters for their vote or eles the loss of votes is much bigger that it looks. The PN has to do see what went bad.... it has lost a lot of votes..... which it seem that PL has not yet managed to attract.....

It will be interesting to have also the statistics of 2008 General election, so one can see PL'gain and PN loss
