Fight breaks out in counting hall
A scuffle broke out at the Naxxar vote counting hall at 11.10 this evening, shattering the calm of what had otherwise been a quiet, if tiring day.
The circumstances of the incident, behind the perspex of Table Six, were not immediately clear, although it appeared that in involved a PL request for a recount of 33 votes. The recount was made and nothing wrong was found.
Policemen quickly rushed in to separate Labour and Nationalist supporters. PL president Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi was among those seen trying to calm down supporters.
Calm was restored after a few minutes but then two separate arguments broke out further down the corridor, the most serious one stemming from insistence by a Labour representative that NET TV filming should stop. Those involved were also quickly calmed down, with Labour MP Carmelo Abela blaming everything on tiredness.

after two days of stress for sure they are tired...Net has been transmitting from the Counting hall for two days...no wrong in doing so...maybe next time Education Channel would have been better placed till all seats were elected....but no need to be angry with these workers who are giving a service....but yet....this is fruit of the stress....thanks to all the party agents

I am very sorry to read about such arguments. Cause till now, apart from the Zejtun incident which for me must be considered as case on its own involving a stupid person which cannot be considered a civilised political party supporter, this election process was ruling out as quite a nice and interesting one. Anyway, I am sure that these people who most probably have been in Naxxar from the very early hours of this morning, must be tired and in these cases where tension is mixed with a tired mind you can only expect such sad thing.
I wish the best of luck to the elected candidates, especially Louis being my first preference hehe, but also to the other 4 (or 5) MEPs from both political parties. And I also thank the people working in Naxxar for their important backstage contribution.

i would call these people fanatics not supporters...this is ridiculous and might i say ignorant, especially since these elections should be based on the individual who can best represent you at an EU level and not the party "elected"
