Closing ceremony
The 13th Games of the Small States of Europe came to a close last night with a symbolic ceremony at the GSP Stadium. Flag-bearer Thomas Zammit Tabona, a gold medallist in the sailing Optimist class, led the Maltese contingent during the athletes' march past. A notable moment of the night was when Cyprus 2009 organising committee president Ouranios Ioannides handed over the official GSSE flag to the Liechtenstein Olympic Committee officials who will host the next GSSE in Vaduz in 2011.
