The 2009 European Snooker Championships continued in the city of Duffel in Belgium with the second day of play from the group-stage.
Four Maltese players were in action on Day Two of the Championships.
Alex Borg maintained his perfect record but Tony Drago, Clayton Castaldi and Tony Mifsud, the other Maltese players in the competition, all suffered their first defeat.
In the men's event, Malta champion Borg was in superb form against Polish champion Michal Zielinski. He had breaks of 80, 107, 101 and 46 to win 4-0 in just under an hour for his second victory in the group.
Drago quickly won the first frame 69-24 against Alfie Burden.
However, the Englishman won the next four to win 4-1. This was Drago's first defeat in the championships after winning his opening match 4-3 on Thursday.
Drago will be in action again today against Yannick Poulain, of France.
Castaldi went down to Dutch champion Roy Stolk 0-4. The latter, beaten by Drago in the International Open last week, hit breaks of 90 and 50.
In the Masters tournament, Mifsud was beaten 3-2 by Ireland's Brendan Thomas.
The other Maltese player in this event, Arthur Cachia, has already won two matches.
