British and Maltese members of the Glarac Association - set up to honour the memory of more than 1,500 sailors who lost their lives when HMS Glorious and accompanying ships were sunk by a German destroyer on June 8, 1940 - recently held a memorial service at the Malta Maritime Museum in Vittoriosa.

Malcolm Knight, David Emery and his wife Dorothy, Sheila Knight, Alfred Mallia and his wife Carmen, Vincent Zahra, Saviour Azzopardi and Mary Iraci are standing beside the plaque in honour of the 40 Maltese who died, which was unveiled last year by then President Eddie Fenech Adami.

The association will this morning hold its annual memorial service in Plymouth, England.
