PM thanks people for turning out to vote
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi has thanked the people for turning out to vote in yesterday's European Parliament elections.
"The turnout, which is expected to be among the highest in the EU, confirms that the Maltese people realised the importance of the European Parliament in their everyday life," Dr Gonzi said in a statement issued by the Nationalist Party.
Dr Gonzi also thanked candidates, ministers and MPs who had contributed to bring out the vote.

The eu is the greatest destroyer of jobs with its idiotic policies and freedom of movement where immigrants and foreign workers undercut local workers destroying their wages and working conditions and where its freedom of movement of capital means that capital is flying away from europe to third world countries where the workers are simply exploited with miserly wages and working conditions so that the capitalists continue to fatten their pockets at the workers expense. That is the cursed european union.

As an Union the EU is a good workable bloc, it creates business and jobs. The low voting turn-out of other EU countries is a clear understanding, that these 785 members of the EU Parliament is a waste of the Unions resources, this Parliament is, as always been described by many the Gravy Train of its members, it could be shorn down to one third of its size and still function, for after all it is not them that take decisions, but the unelected few.

According to Dr.L. Gonzi opinion, only the Maltese recognise the importance of the E.U and once there is a very low tun out in the other countries, the population of Europe do not recognise E.U. importance. Could it be the reverse?
