Bank staff clean up nature park
A group of 100 bank employees set out in the afternoon heat yesterday and collected thousands of plastic bottles, wrapping paper, containers, toilet bowls and castaway appliances from the Majjistral Park.
In all, HSBC staff filled a staggering 225 garbage bags with waste as part of the bank's commitment to the environment.
The clean-up, in the 2.6-square-kilometre park that spans from Golden Bay to Anchor Bay, was carried out in collaboration with the Rural Affairs Ministry, Nature Trust and the Gaia Foundation, that are responsible for the management of the area.
