I read with great interest the editorial An Easy Way Out To Finance Culture.

Museums should be hives of activity. Art and cultural expression are key media "tools" for promoting identity and also to reflect on our human condition. For sure, culture will have a pivotal function in the immediate future. And it is not only Malta that acknowledges this truth.

The UAE have the Museum of Islamic Art (Doha), Saadiyat Island (Abu Dhabi) and Muscat's House of Musical Arts - landmarks of the Arab world, venues for its local population to enjoy and to attract lucrative tourism.
