Diamond Flight Training has launched a flight training school registered by the Malta Department of Civil Aviation. The company has also inaugurated the arrival of its two brand new aircraft, a Diamond DA 40 tdi and a Diamond DA 20 Eclipse. Diamond Flight Training has invested over €500,000 in the new aircraft and training facilities at Malta International Airport. The aircraft will be used for pilot training, pilot hour building and pilot charters.

The Diamond DA 40 Tdi and the Diamond DA 20 Eclipse are equipped with the latest technology and are used by most major flight academies around the world, including the US Air Force Flight Academy.

The DA 40 boasts of a complete glass cockpit and is equipped with the latest Electronic Flight Information System and FADEC digital single-lever engine controls similar to an Airbus. This aircraft also uses Jet A1 fuel and is extremely efficient, resulting in 40 per cent fuel savings. The aircraft has an unbeatable safety record; and is renowned for its short take-off and landing distances, as well as for its superior visibility.

The DA 20 has a superior design making it incredibly stable, giving it the best safety record in the industry and is the best choice for the initial training of pilots. Its low fuel burn and easy maintenance also make it an extremely economical aircraft to operate. The thoughtfully designed interior gives both pilot and passenger excellent panoramic views, comfortable seating and easy cabin access.

Diamond Flight Training aims to expand its operations and is in discussions with Mcast to enter into a strategic partnership so that together they will be able to promote and provide pilot training courses leading to a private pilot licence.
