Jason Busuttil, 35, of Birkirkara pleaded not guilty to importing and trafficking in cocaine and conspiring to deal in it on and before Saturday.

He was also charged with the possession of cocaine and heroin and relapsing. Mr Busuttil was charged before Magistrate Antonio Mizzi after, on Saturday, the police searched an apartment in Rabat and found the drugs hidden in the computer's hard disc. He was denied bail.

Apart from Mr Busuttil, another three people were arrested and two will be charged in the coming days.

Meanwhile, during separate drug-related finds, police arrested another seven people over the weekend, the police said in a statement.

Packets of heroin were found in an apartment and garage belonging to a 32-year-old man in Gżira on Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday evening, six men, between 17 and 26 years old, were caught with ecstasy, cocaine and cannabis during a party. One of them, a 26-year-old from Qormi, was in possession of 85 ectasy pills.

Police Inspectors Victor Aquilina and Jesmond Borg prosecuted.

Lawyer Chris Cardona appeared for Mr Busuttil.
