Sixteen events will feature in this year’s Malta Arts Festival, which will be held between July 1 and 24.
Adrian Mamo, Chairman of the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, said the events would be the work of collaboration between Maltese and foreign artistes and would feature dance, theatre, visual arts and music from Malta, Spain, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Lithuania and Morocco.
The programme includes the participation of artistes from The Globe Theatre of London the Arditti Qartet and Enrico Dindo, Roberto Cominati, Scarlattine Teatro, Azar Teatro, the Rosa Ensemble from Holland and Renaud Garcia Fons.
Local participants will include The Cosmos Ensemble, Cikka Grima and her Puerto Flamenco Group, french horn player Etienne Cutajar, and actors Pino Scicluna and Peter Busuttil.
The events will include the Music of Astor Piazzolla for celo and strings, a recital of Mendelsshon's chamber music, Hansel and Gretel, a Fairytale Opera by Die Marchenhafte Operncompagnie, a wine, food and art festival in South Street, Valletta between July 10-13 and Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, a Globe Theatre Production .
