The institutes for Maltese Culture and Cellular Pharmacology are receiving applications for the second award for the promotion of science called the Marie Amelie Gleizes-Dewavrin Award for Science.
The aim of this award is to recognise Maltese individuals working in the field of science in Malta who have excelled in promoting their work overseas and in so doing help improve Malta's image and its scientists internationally. This award is under the patronage of the Maltese Ambassador in France and the French Ambassador in Malta.
A jury of international scientists has been assembled to judge applications. The jury consists of: Prof. Michel Franck from the Veterinary School of Lyon, Jean Alexis Grimaud, Professor of Medicine at Paris VI Jean Pierre Gauthier, professor at the University Claude Bernard, and Carmelo Agius, professor at the University of Malta, the most recent recipient of this award.
The chairman of the jury is Rev. Prof. Peter Serracino Inglott. The chosen candidate will receive €10,000. The results of the jury will be announced later this year. Applicants for this award should send a letter explaining why they think they should be given this award to Charles Saliba at the Institute of Cellular Pharmacology, F 24 Mosta Technopark, Mosta, MST 3000, Malta.
Closing date for applications is July 15.
