Sliema carried off the FA Trophy after beating Valletta on penalties when their match at Ta'Qali ended 3-3 after extra time.

Priso had opened the score for Valletta in the 49th minute and was red carded shortly after. Sliema surged ahead with goals by Alex Muscat on the 52nd and 65th minutes and Ivan Woods on the 81st minute and when then thought they had it in the bag, Valletta made a dramatic late recovery, with goals by Gilbert Agius on the 93rd minute and Sebastian Monesterolo on the 95th minute pushing the game into a goalless extra time.

Jeffrey Chetcuti of Sliema also saw red near the end of the game.

Valletta: Stefan Giglio, Dyson Falzon, Jamie Pace. Missed: Gilbert Agius, Steve Bezzina.

Sliema: Noel Turner, Mark Scerri, Branko Nisevic, Ivan Woods. Missed: Roderick Bajada.
