Boathouse owner ordered to remove it
A man who built a boathouse without permission was this morning ordered to remove it by the court in Gozo.
Peter Paul Borg, built a boathouse in Daħlet Qorrot Bay, limits of Nadur, a beautiful shallow diving site.
Mr Borg argued that there were other boat houses in the same area and no proceedings had been taken against their owners. He said his structure was built under soil and was barely visible.
But magistrate Giovanni Grixti found Mr Borg guilty, ordered him to dismantle the boathouse and fined him €58.23 and a further €4.66 per day until the boathouse was removed.

And what about the Armier triving shanty town? Are the squatters that stole our public land over there above the law? Shamefully we live in a European member state based on double standards.

What about the boat houses build in Ta' Xbiex Sea Front, Ta' Xbiex, opposite the Irreka Kiosk and the Marintine authority, these where actually build as "boat-house" yet they had been turned into production premises, living quarters, and a business premises. Why no action so far had been taken?

Mr. Borg For a fine of 58.23 euro and a daily fine of 4.66 I wouldn"t bother about removing your boathouse. Your daily fine amounts to an annual cost of 1700.00 euro. For a boathouse next to the sea on such a lovely beach, THAT'S PEANUTS. ENJOY YOUR BOATHOUSE AND THANK OUR JUDICIAL SYSTEM FOR BEING SO DUMB!!

And yet no less than 25 boathouses built illegally right by the Inland Sea at Dwejra were "sanctioned" just a couple of weeks before the election.

ON what basis he was ordered to remove his illegal boat house . If it is against law it is against law to all the boathouse .Please why some people are above the law , because they been there for a long time, are they paying 4.66 euros a day, it does not make sense.

Your Honor, I hope this rule applies to all other similar boathouses in the area?
