Not enough rubbish bins
Why do we have local councils? Aren't they supposedly looking after the cleanness of there particular area? Yet, out of all the members of the local councils, no one has noticed that the rubbish bins on the promenade are not ample enough to cater for the rubbish.
Every morning on my daily walk I am appalled at the overflowing rubbish bins.
If the local council is not capable to take care of a basic need, why do we have local councils?

Our Local Councils are important. One year in three, things get done. I always know when a LC election is due in my locality because it starts getting spruced up - potholes filled in, lines freshly drawn, roads swept regularly. God forbid elections start being held less frequently!

At the Pieta' recently-revamped playing-field, near Braxia Cemetery, two brand-new, red bins reserved for dog poo were installed. Above each of them, a request for animal-owners not to dirty the area. One of them was set alight and the black fumes' mark can still be seen on the brand-new wall; the other one has been full for days on end and nobody seems to bother about it. It is now overflowing! And then we criticise animal-owners!

MY DEAR CHAP WELLCOME TO THE REAL WORLD, LOCAL COUNCILS ARE A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME UNLESS YOU HAPPEN TO LIVE IN THE TOWN CENTRE WHICH IS THEIR SHOW PIECE OR IN GOVERNMENT APPARTMENTS WHERE ACCORDING TO OUR MAYOR SHOULD BE GIVEN MOST IMPORTANCE, EVERY WHERE ELSE IS TOTALLY IGNORED EXCEPT FOR WARDENS GIVING TICKETS GALORE.
