Tommy Hilfiger tournament at RMGC

Leading fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger and the Royal Malta Golf Club (RMGC) have agreed on a three-year tournament title-sponsorship with the first event scheduled between June 11 and 14.

The event is open for men and women and starts with qualifying rounds. The top 72 will make it to the final on June 14, with the first tee-off scheduled for 8 a.m.

"Organising a tournament would not be possible without the support of sponsors and Tommy Hilfiger, through its agents in Malta, have down pretty well to organise what looks like a great event and hopefully an annual appointment in our calendar,'' Raymond Mountford, club Captain, said.

A number of prizes will be awarded at the end of the tournament and these include trophies and four complimentary trips to Celtic Manor, in Wales, for an official Tommy Hilfiger Ryder Cup Launch event.

The trip also includes a coaching session with leading European Tour Professional golfer Nick Dougherty and also figure in a one-day tournament.

Closing date for registration is June 9.
