Video interview: Joseph Cuschieri, looking for a new seat
Former Labour MP Joseph Cuschieri denies that Joseph Muscat is giving him a behind-the-scenes push in gratitude for having given up his seat in the Maltese Parliament for him. He says he gave up his seat for the party, not Dr Muscat, and his candidature for the EP Parliament is not linked to it.

This is what Dr Joseph Muscat said about Mr Cuschieri:
"Nizgurak li minn issa, jien se nassigura li l-kompetenzi u l-kapacitajiet li inti ksibt tul il-karriera politika tieghek, ikunu uzati u utilizzati fl-interessi tal-pajjiz"

I do not want to cheat. I am not a PL supporter. No result will bother in the MEP election. If it has to be 3PL and 2PN, 4 PL and 2 PN or 3PL, 2PN and 1 AD , so it be. But Simon Amato is right. At least we must elect MEP's that have certain capabilities, intelligence and that can make a difference. Very obvious that certain candidates should have never been allowed to contest, not knowing that there is a Big difference from being an MEP and Segretarju tal-Kumitat tal-Bocci.

@ Simon Amato. You have to decide if you "wish to know" or if you made up your mind about the capabilities of Mr Cuschieri, you have to decide and not contradict yourself in the same sentence. Being a PL supporter does not make opinion more credible and if i were you i wouldn't include the word "respect" in your text next time round.

@ Simon Amato
with all due respect I cannot understand how you come up with this stuff! Mr. Cuschieri is one of the few candidates (from all parties) who has substantial parliamentary experience, which although not exactly the same as that of the EP, is still a valuable asset nontheless. Regarding integrity I think there can be no doubts about Mr. Cuschieri. He has always been a declared social-democrat, constantly practicing what he believes. He was never caught up in anything remotely fishy and he never sold his soul for money or power or high government positions. He only sees the party and the national interest.
You said it yourself, how can someone who doesn't know how a parliament works 'make a difference'. How can some who does not know 'how to handle things in the european parliament' be trusted. That is why we should trust Mr. Cuschieri because he knows procedures and legislation. He has all the credentials to do a great job as an MEP - loyalty, intelligence and integrity.

i wish to know the capabilities and credentials of mr cuschieri. altough im a PL supporter, with all respect i dont think that mr cuschieri deserve to be elected. the only credentials are that he conceed his seat to Joseph..so what?? sympathy votes cannot be compared with capabilities, intelligence and integrity. we want MEP's that can make a difference.they have to know how to handle things in european parliament. vote have to be decided by brain not by heart and sympathy!!

@ Paul Xuereb. Good point. I suppose that if someone wants to be fair, the hundreds of outside development zones were also tit(s) for tat(s)!

Please allow me a titter. To me and to many others it sounds like a classical, case of tit for tat.
