We are living in a critical time when the decisions that our leaders make today will have significant ramifications for the direction that our country heads far in the future.
Illegal immigration and asylum seeking has become a problematic issue because historically we have chosen to ignore these issues and more, vilified those who at the right time and moment, forewarned our leaders that Malta in the long run could not afford to continue to comply without being responsible first to its national interest.
We have now reached a serious level, where we have outstretched our resources to an impossible and exhaustive level, which is putting our nation under such duress that we have totally lost control of the situation.
As the leaders of our country, all the members of Parliament have a responsibility "morally, ethically and legally" to serve and protect this country and its legal citizens! As our leaders ponder the fate of this and future generations, I stress the need for them to do the right thing for all Maltese and act in the face of this uncontrollable situation.
We cannot continue accepting such a situation when we have reached saturation point.
This current scenario is an ideal recipe for disaster.
