The European Institute of Education has set up of its School of Logistics, Supply Chain and Operations Management. Andrew Saliba, a Cranfield University alumnus and distinguished lecturer, has been appointed its head.
The official set-up of the School will be inaugurated with the launching of a number of lecture-based study programmes which the EIE will be offering in purchasing. Other related study programmes will be introduced shortly.
The purchasing courses include certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas and professional diplomas awarded and accredited by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
This is possible as EIE has been recently appointed and registered as the provider of CIPS qualifications in Malta.
CIPS is the leading body representing the field of purchasing and supply chain management. It promotes and develops high standards of professional skill, ability and integrity among those engaged in purchasing and supply chain management. In 1992 CIPS was awarded a Royal Charter in recognition of its status as a centre of excellence and support for the profession.
Mr Saliba said: "Excellence in the field of purchasing and supply management operations is highly imperative for companies and organisations that want to succeed. CIPS helps organisations achieve and maintain the highest standards throughout their operations. This contributes significantly to their effectiveness."
