Obituary

CACHIA. On May 19, Angelo of Qrendi, aged 83 years, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will be greatly missed by his wife Maria, his children Rocco and his wife Grace, Carmen and her husband Joe Agius, Josephine and her husband Joseph Bugeja, Doris and her husband Taddeo Mifsud, Rita and her husband Charles Ciantar, Frank and his wife Carmen, Martin and his wife Maryanne, Rennie and his wife Lina, his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3 p.m. for St Mary parish church, Qrendi, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at the Qrendi cemetery. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On May 19, at her residence in Senglea, ELVIRA, née Gaffarena, of Senglea, aged 80, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Joseph, her daughter Anna and her husband Raymond, her son John and his wife Betty, her beloved grandchildren Ryan and his wife Charmaine, Malcolm and his fiancée Luana, Tyrone and Kevin and his fiancée Catherine, her sisters Victoria and Aida and her husband Lorry, her brother Oscar, her sister in-law Saveria, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves her residence today at 2 p.m. for Our Lady of Victories Basilica in Senglea, where mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at the Luqa cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On May 19, at St Vincent De Paul, JOSEPH, of Żurrieq and residing at Sliema, aged 85, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Carmen and her husband Tommy, Saviour and his wife Maria, Louise and her husband John, Roger and his wife Eve, his brothers Salvu, Ninu, Żaren and Karmenu, his sisters Carmena and Pawla, Maria, widow of his brother Mikiel, Ċetta, widow of his brother Leli, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul today at 2.30 p.m. for the Żurrieq parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at the Żurrieq cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MICALLEF. On May 19, at Mater Dei Hospital, ADELINA, widow of Anthony (ex-Malta Police), at the venerable age of 96, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Godwin and his wife Beatrice, her nephew Kenneth and his wife Marlene, her great grandchild Hannah, her brother Michael and his wife Pauline, her in-laws, her niece Joyce Bullock, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8 a.m. on Friday May 22 at the Msida parish church followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza and Eden Foundation will be greatly appreciated.

SELVAGI. On May 19, JOAN, née Attard, aged 50, passed away peacefully at home, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss, her husband Raphael, her daughters Joanna and Paula and her boyfriend John Paul Caruana Galizia, her brother Prof. David Attard and his wife Charmaine, her in-laws Christopher and his wife Lucienne, and Maryanne, her mother-in-law Anne, her much loved aunt, Rose Calcaterra, aunts and uncles, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow for the Immaculate Conception parish church, Ta' l-Ibraġ, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be very much appreciated. The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at the Malta Hospice Movement for their support and dedicated care.

SOLER. On May 18, ANTOINETTE, née Bugeja, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her devoted husband, Victor, her son Jean Karl and his wife Joyce, her daughter Romina and David, and her grandchildren, whom she adored, Stephen and Vicky. She also leaves her brother Frank and his wife Mildred, her sisters Marlene, Rosette and Doreen, her brother Raymond and Anna, her sisters-in-law Mary and Frances, other relatives and friends, in particular the members of the 'Praise the Name of Jesus' prayer group. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for the parish church of the Immaculate Conception, Ta' l-Ibraġ, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Her family requests that donations are kindly given to the Dar tal-Providenza in lieu of flowers. The family wishes to publicly thank the consultant, doctors, nurses and para-medical staff at Mater Dei Hospital, in particular at the Accident and Emergency Department, Admission Ward 2 and Medical Ward 6, for all their loving care and dedication.

After meeting rigorous requirements in the artistic and technical field, the two photographers earned the Certified Professional Photographer from the American Professional Photographic Certification Commission. The commission, the world's leading body for certifying imaging professionals, recognises fewer than 2,000 certified professional photographers.

Multi-religious perspective

Representatives from Muslim, Christian and Hindu religions will participate in a seminar, Tolerance - A Multi-Religious Perspective, which the Malta Unesco Youth Association and the local branch of the World Islamic Call Society will hold tomorrow at the Islamic Centre in Paola at 6.45 p.m.
