Up to March 31, there were €151,196.08 in unclaimed lotto and Super 5 prizes, Finance Minister Tonio Fenech told Carmelo Abela (PL) in reply to a parliamentary question. The unclaimed lotto prizes amounted to €70,653.32, with €80,542.76 in Super 5 prizes.

The time limit for claiming prizes is 30 days, which means that April winnings can still be claimed. Minister Fenech pointed out that lotto receivers are bound to hand over to the lotteries authorities any unclaimed winnings on May 31 and November 30 each year. This means that the figures quoted have not yet been accredited to the reserve fund for unclaimed prizes and subsequently the Good Causes Fund.
