The threat to Maltese freedom and liberty may be sneaking up on us by mere demographics... demographics that are the direct result of the failure of the European governments to secure our borders and stop illegal immigration, coming mostly from central and north African countries. Although some may construe what I have to say here as racist, it is not. It is merely reporting salient facts that are staring every legal, freedom-loving, productive, responsible and self-reliant Maltese citizen in the face and in the wallet.

What is the estimated number of illegal immigrants in Europe? No one knows for sure. But there are two vital statistics about this issue that most people ignore, at their own peril.

The two statistics are: 1) the significant increase in the illegal population from new births, if left unchecked, in the next 30 to 50 years; 2) the political mindset of that illegal population.

Our ancestors built this country with their blood, sweat and tears. They fought for our freedom and our rights and our way of life. They did not run to another country illegally and expect to be fed and clothed at that country's expense.

Why did these illegal immigrants not fight for their rights in their country as our forefathers did? Why turn our country into the country they left?

Let us all use our sympathy for illegal immigrants by helping them turn their country into a country that respects them, not help them turn Malta into the country they came from.
