Greens hopeful of winning seat in EP elections
Polls show that the Greens are on their way to win a seat in June's European Parliament elections, according to Alternattiva Demokratika chairman Arnold Cassola.
"We can do it. Yes we can. Malta needs a third voice in the European Parliament. Pluralism will show that Malta is a serious and modern country," Dr Cassola, who will be contesting the elections, told activists at a meeting yesterday.
AD has a very good fighting chance, even more now that Malta would most probably have six seats in the European Parliament.
He disputed figures in internal party polls, which The Sunday Times reported yesterday, putting Labour well ahead of the Nationalist Party and showing that the share of small parties was narrowing.
He said published scientific polls have shown that AD's share actually increased and quoted the EU-sponsored www.predict09.eu poll, which showed that the party increased its share of votes from 4.4 to 6.6 per cent in the last two months.

As i have already said a number of times i am disillusioned with the MALTESE GREENS - because of their ultra conservatism and at the same time their quest for votes thru' the use of this ultra conservative stance. You are a shame to politics. Regarding Red and Green Co-alition - it's true and it's so true you are desperate that PN voters will get to know about it!!! Hehehe Dr. Cassola who laughs last laughs best. Di nuovo sogni d'oro!!!

Margaret Richards once again, rushes out of her box to denigrate, however feebly, AD. God only knows why she has got it in for them. So, let's stick to Christian Democrats, if they exist, which I very much doubt, unless it's for convenience's sake, and keep things as they are. @ Michael Neville Cassar: Don't believe the things you hear locally. You have the Internet. Surf and know exactly what is going on, because you're wrong.

How can the greens expect to have a seat I don’t really know. After the way the greens vote in favor of illegal voters in the EU Parliament, it is cheeky giving away my country to outsiders and depending on the locals to vote for you.

Hahahah!!! Dr. Cassola one moment says that the polls show that Greens are on their way to winning 6th seat and at the same time disputing figures reported on the Sunday times. Dr. Cassola please stop spinning tales and do tell the Maltese electorate that voting Green is as good as voting Socialist Party due to an agreement reached last week between European Greens and European Socialists. You very conveniently spin lies about your idiotic 6th seat which has not even materialized yet - and at the same time you forget to tell the people about this last coalition in the EU parliament between European Greens and Socialist Reds. So for all those thinking to vote Green please read this carefully before: Red-Green in the EU Parliament Cohn-Bendit welcomes Rasmussen declaration in favour of EU Parliament Red-Green alliance Commenting of the declaration of the President of the European Social Democratic Party, Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, to abandon the informal alliance with the Christian Democrats in favour of a Red-Green alliance during the upcoming European Parliament mandate, Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Co-President of the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament, said: Dr. Cassola fix your memory!!!

i will bet that AD will not elect even one half of an MEP seat. With the radicalism he preaches, the radical ideology the greens preach, they will not win anything in Malta not even in Italy. His party was shoved off for being leftist and in favour of all that is bad in this rotten world. It was in this green party that this arnold militated.

They deserve it - they have been the most consistent party in their views and values for over 10 years now!

My only problem is what is their manifesto? Can we see this document? Can we also see what commitment the AD have towards Europe for the benefit of Malta and Gozo? We know what commitment to accept from the PN (we also know what NOT to expect from the PL) but the AD is a grey area (I apologize for the colour change here!)
