Long gone I fear are the days when the Transport Authority's spin doctor would wax lyrical over cycle lanes. Having called their bluff and given them a chance to practise what they preach, I am still awaiting answers as to how many ADT employees cycle to work or actually use cycle lanes.
It would be nice for instance if someone at the glorious ADT woke up one morning and thought of putting ramps at the ends of tunnel footpaths. This foolishly simple and cheap fix would smooth the path to work and win massive brownie points but the poor old ADT are just not in the know.
So the two-wheeled nation waits with bated breath. Well it has to, really, given the smoky old buses and commercial vehicles. Not much success there either ADT. You see bicycles are a pollution solution. So it would be nice for once in a while not to have to cycle through the er... em excuse the pun, the polluters' solution!
