Godfrey Turner, examiner of the London College of Music, will be in Malta to examine local candidates for the Diploma and Grade examinations of the London College of Music from tomorrow to May 28.
A total of 203 candidates will be taking these examinations at the Malta Centre, Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, Palazzo De La Salle, 219 Republic Street, Valletta.
The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce has been representing the London College of Music for the past 89 years.
Mr Turner, who lives in Bradford, Yorkshire, has been an examiner since 1978, and was last in Malta in 2005. Before taking early retirement many years ago, he was director of music at a grammar school in Halifax which was famous for its successful concert band which toured Austria regularly in the summer holidays. Mr Turner also moderated GCSE music for many years. He has examined all over the UK, and in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, USA and Ireland.
