The Greek director of an online betting company yesterday denied misappropriating €500,000 from customers' accounts.

Dimitros Drosos, 42, pleaded not guilty to misappropriating €500,000 from online accounts of the gaming company Gold Victory, which is registered in Malta.

Police decided to prosecute after being asked to investigate the case by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority.

Mr Drosos was granted bail against a deposit of €70,000 and a personal guarantee of €5,000.
