Mediterranean Bank Network, the non-profit banking organisation headquartered in Malta, recently made a presentation at an international conference organised by the World Savings Banks Institute in Barcelona.
The event aimed to identify best practices and highlight the social and economic role of banks as promoters of the Union for the Mediterranean. The MBN was represented by Adelina Achilli on behalf of its member Banco Popolare.
Ms Achilli presented views on the role of banks in contributing to the effectiveness of investment financing in North African countries and outlined the region economic situation, the effect of the worldwide financial circumstances and challenges ahead.
Through its member banks, MBN has a presence in several Mediterranean countries represented by nine member banks. The network markets the member banks regionally and enjoys the influence of forming part of a regional Euro Med banking association.
