Open day at Mcast on Sunday

Preparations for the Open Day being held at Mcast on Sunday are in full swing.

The different institutes of the college will be organising different activities and the annual hairdressing and beauty marathon is being held in parallel wth the open day.

Visiting the preparations this morning, Parliamentary Secretary for Information Chris Said said the day will give parents the opportunity to see where their children were being trained.

The government, he said, was committed to providing the best investment for students. Through EU assistance, nine new projects were approved for Mcast, besides those carried out in the first five years of membership. These included courses in sectors such as ICT and aviation to new facilities such as laboratories and equipment.

The government, Dr Said said, was also investing 116 million euros in a new campus to enable more students to continue with their studies. A model of this campus is being exhibited during the open day between 10 a.m. amd 5 p.m. The marathon will. however, continue until 11 p.m.
