Charged with defrauding family member

A father and daughter were granted bail against a personal guarantee of €1,000 each after pleading not guilty to defrauding a family member of almost €70,000.

Romano Briffa, 65, of Qormi, and his 39-year-old daughter Josette Cutajar pleaded not guilty to defrauding Tanya Briffa, Josette’s cousin.

CHARGED WITH INVOLUNTARY HOMICIDE

Dimitry Tomashov, 19 of Fgura has been charged with committing the involuntary homicide of Maysara Nzahmidinova on the Coast Road last October.

He was also accused of seriously injuring Aaron Geroge Cassar, damaging Joseph Chetcuti's car and of drink driving.
