Labour candidate demands incinerator consultation, guarantees
Labour candidate Steve Borg said today that the government had decided to set up an incinerator near Marsaxlokk without proper consultation.
Mr Borg said in a statement that he would have expected the government to hear the opinions of Greenpeace International, Friends of the Earth and the World Wildlife Fund on incineration, since these organisations were independent of any political links.
He also insisted that the government should guarantee that the incinerator posed no health risks to residents of the south of Malta.
