Kenneth Farrugia has been appointed chairman of FinanceMalta, replacing Joseph Zammit Tabona who has taken up his appointment as Malta's High Commissioner in London.
Mr Farrugia has been deputy chairman of the Foundation since May 2007 - when FinanceMalta was established as a public-private partnership with the aim of promoting Malta as a financial services centre.
Mr Farrugia said: "I look forward to the continued valuable contribution of the Board of Governors, its member base, the founding associations as well as the expert groups so that FinanceMalta continues to play an important role in the national vision and aspiration aimed at ultimately positioning Malta as an international business, investment and financial jurisdiction".
