Hibernians striker Terrence Scerri is almost certain to miss the Premier League match against Birkirkara on Monday after hurting his ankle in the second half of the goalless stalemate against Sliema Wanderers.
Scerri, Hibs' top scorer with 26 goals, was carried away on a stretcher 14 minutes from the end of last Monday's match after landing badly during a tussle for possession inside the Sliema box.
The injury left the 25-year-old Malta forward with a swollen ankle which is set to rule him out of the clash with the Stripes which Hibs must win to set up a final-day title decider against Valletta on May 24.
Hibs are one point behind the Citizens with only two matches left.
Scerri, who is also carrying an adductor injury which has restricted his movement in the last few matches, faces a race against time to recover his fitness for the game against Valletta.
