Senglea Local Council will organise a number of traditional marine-related activities next Sunday in a festival which will hark back to Senglea's maritime history.

The activities, between 10am and 4pm. will be held on the promenade from Macina Bastion to Senglea Point. Among the attractions will be the lifting of a ship’s mast at the Maċina, re-enactments, maritime exhibitions, band marches, traditional folk singing and music, as well as boat trips with the traditional dgħajsa along the Grand Harbour. There will also be activities such as abseiling, canoeing and fishing competitions.

Visitors will have the opportunity to also visit a number of historical palaces throughout the day. Boat trips with return from Valletta and Vittoriosa to Senglea from 10.00am onwards.

The activities are being held in conjunction with the Secretariat for Public Information.
